An independent art curator, educator, and critic, Bruce has spent most of his professional life facilitating artists, in one way or another.

 

Rotterdam Dialogues:  the Curators Symposium -- invited speaker at the Dialogues that took place in the Netherlands, March 5-7 2009. The symposia create space for a range of voices, and explore the practice of three of the central protagonists of the contemporary art world: the critic, the curator and the artist.

Robots R Us --- Bruce¹s essay accompanies the exhibition of Max Dean, Raffaello D'Andrea and Matt Donovan¹s The Robotic Chair, on view at The Children¹s Museum in Kitchener Ontario from Sept 20 2007 to Jan 6, 2008.  To read the article, click here.

The WORD is Coming to an End (Not a Misprint) -- a lecture at the Phoenix Art Museum on November 13 2007. The lecture scanned the history of art and culture and inspected the contemporary world to argue that we have entered a post-literate society.  For more, click here.

BMW’s 16th Art Car Commission -- Bruce was on a jury of international curators who selected Olafur Eliasson for the commission. The project is on view at the San Francisco MOMA from Sept 8 2007 to Jan 13 2008. For more, click here.
